LYNN TROTTAHello Beautiful Person! I'm a naturalist, certified coach, lover of archetypes, passionate gardener {whose end products mostly go to feeding wild-life}, farmer of chickens, facilitator of rites of passage for women, and contributing author to Discover Your Woman Within: A Journey to Wholeness. I feel confident in saying, Sit Spot saved my life by healing my soul and making me feel fully alive. I love to play with people where the wild things are, because if you stay long enough, you'll fall in love with the magic of the planet and yourself. My gateway drug to nature-connection was birding & bird language. I truly believe we're all on this planet to suck the marrow out of each moment and I delight in helping folks learn how to do this.
With a degree in Biology from Quinnipiac University, a yearlong apprenticeship with with the Vermont Wilderness School, and a husband busting to co-create transformational, nature-based experiences for individuals and communities, I said "no thanks" to the usual career path and co-founded the Sagefire Institute with my husband, Michael, in 2005. |
“Lynn has a wise woman’s intuition and a wizard’s grasp of the magical.
Her gentle encouragement helped me let go of my relentless ‘to do’ lists and play more. We live in such a hard-charging, distracted, busy culture. I found Lynn’s Nature-Based Coaching to be the perfect, creative antidote.”

Naturalist |
I was that kid who found wounded animals and brought them home to a hospital bed made of a grass filled tissue box. Caring for nature was how I cared for myself, and as I grew older, my love and concern for nature grew too. After college, I worked for the Audubon Society of Greenwich, CT, where my love of all things avian was born. Shortly there after, I began to supplement my modern, academic understanding of the natural world with a more native, cultural understanding. This approach, melded with what I had learned formally, opened the door to a whole new world for me.

With nature awareness providing a new world view and approach to living a life of harmony, coaching or "Inner Tracking" provided me with the vocabulary for navigating this way of seeing to others. It wasn't long before I began using my love of deep listening, my nature-based world view, and tools for tracking both the inner & outer landscape in order to guide others to their deepest truth.

In the many years I have been learning about ancient, nature-based cultures, perhaps one of the most profound cultural elements they had, that are all but lost today, is what we would call rites of passage. Consciously designed to help individuals transition from one life stage to the next, rites of passage initiate people into new identities and empower them to take hold of their rightful place among the people. The significance of this is often lost on our modern selves, yet their absence can be felt in the struggle and "stuckness" that many of us feel as we long to become a bigger expression of who we are currently showing up as. Fortunately, there has been a reawakening. People have begun to rediscover importance and possibility of rites of passage, and I have been a passionate student, facilitator, and teacher of these psychologically imperative and culturally dynamic life transition ceremonies for over 10 years.
